The hotel is located with easy access to the highway Autobahn A99 & 96. The S-Bahn train station “Germering-Unterpfaffenhofen” is about 900 m away and within walking distance to the Hotel Mayer. The S-Bahn Line S8 brings you directly in 20 minutes to the Munich main railway station “Hauptbahnhof “and in 60 minutes to the International Airport “Franz Josef Strauss” without changing the train. The Munich Trade Fair town “Messestadt” can also be reached by the metropolitan public train system, the Munich S-Bahn and U-Bahn (Underground) within 60 minutes. The town Germering, right on the city border west of Munich is perfectly located to plan sightseeing tours in and around Munich. It’s only a short drive to the Lake Ammersee, Lake Starnberger See and 3 other famous lakes in the so called Five-Lake-Region.
While being in the region it is worth a visit to the local tourist attractions, like the monastery Kloster Andechs with it’s famous Bräustüberl and the monastery Fürstenfeld with it’s unique baroque church St. Maria.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Alps and the famous magnificient castles and palaces of our fairy king Ludwig II. Neuschwanstein and Linderhof can be reached in about 1 hour by car. The Nymphenburg Palace is in the near vicinity of the Hotel Mayer.
The world famous Munich Beer Festival Oktoberfest is just a couple of stops on the S8 S-Bahn line from our hotel towards Munich downtown and can be reached in about 20 minutes.
